Zambia is often described as the 'real Africa' and it is easy to see why.
Being one of the least commercialised areas in Africa and providing great diversity of landscape and habitat, safaris here are interesting and rewarding. Covering an area larger than France Zambia has over nineteen National Parks and thirty three Game Management Areas, all blessed with lush vegetation, abundant water and a firm commitment to preserving the abundant wildlife. Two of the most popular parks; the South Luangwa and Kafue National Park; are home to arguably the most diverse range of game. A variety of game including elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah, Wild Dog, hyena, buffalo, Roan, Sable and other antelope can be sighted regularly and the bird life is extensive. A safari in Zambia is a legendary wildlife experience and offers game drives in open vehicles, walking safaris through pristine bush, or canoeing safaris down the Zambezi River. All visitors to Zambia are encouraged to spend at least some of their time on a walking safari for which the country is famous for. In addition to wonderful game viewing and walking safaris, of course it is highly recommended to visit the Victoria Falls as well. Direct flights link Lusaka with Nairobi, Dar es Salaam and Johannesburg so a visit to Zambia can easily be combined with East Africa or Southern Africa alike. There are a multitude of safaris, accommodation choices and activities available. |
